Basically, the scammer invents a problem that the victim’s money can solve. The victim’s heartstrings are tugged, and they offer to give the money. Of course, there is no such problem, and the person is just looking to scam the victim out of money.

The scams can take different forms but often involve fake prizes, contests, giveaways or early investment opportunities. The scammers may impersonate celebrities or popular cryptocurrency websites to lure victims into sending them money, sharing login information or "investing" in a project.

Contact the company or bank that issued the credit card or debit card. Tell them it was a fraudulent charge. Ask them to reverse the transaction and give you your money back. Did a scammer make an unauthorized transfer from your bank account? Contact your bank and tell them it was an unauthorized debit or withdrawal.
